Daffodils will tolerate some crowding, but they prefer to be spaced about 3 to 6 inches apart. Ideal in a perennial border or for naturalizing. They multiply year after year to provide a steady supply of gorgeous cut flowers. Easy to grow. Plant in fall for spring blooms. Just dig, drop and you are done! Plant Daffodil bulbs in the fall before the first frost hardens the soil. Dig a hole to the required depth. Place bulb in hole, pointed side up. Cover with soil and water thoroughly. Mulch in extreme climates. For container planting, bury the bulb three times as deep as the bulb is wide. After blooming, allow the foliage to naturally fade or die back. Don’t cut the foliage as it’s making food for next year’s flowers. Divide only when containers or planting spaces become too crowded.
